Dr. Marie Godin is currently a research officer at the Oxford Department of International Development (University of Oxford). Her research interests lie in the area of migration and development, with a focus on diaspora engagement, gender and participation in peace-building and (post)-conflict reconstruction. She became a member of IMI in October 2015 to work on a new research project investigating the links between social protection initiatives, welfare systems and migration within, towards and beyond Europe (www.mobilewefare.org). Her recent publications include'Breaking the silences, breaking the frames: a gendered diasporic analysis of sexual violence in the DRC', Journal of Ethnic and Migration Studies (2017) and 'Theatre and Photography as New Contentious Repertoires of Congolese Women in the Diaspora: Towards Another Politics of Representation of Rape', African Diaspora 9 (1-2) 101-127.
